Final week together : Week 10

Guys I am sad to say this will be our last week together!!!! It has been awesome hearing everyones thoughts, the few that were negative and the wonderful ones that empowered fellow peers. If anything, just know that this assignment affected everyone in some way...if nothing else it reinforced someone's ideas.

Alrighty, lets get down to it:
  1. How have you used your interdisciplinarity in your professional life?

(For those of you that haven't had a job as of yet, how do you hope to use interdisciplinarity in your career?)

  2. What has been your professional history?

  3. What are your strongest and weakest job skills?

(For example my weakest skill is my assertivness... which is mildly nonexistent!)
  4. What can you do to develop and improve upon your weak skills?

(I can try to participate more in meetings and get my voice heard, as well as not cower when a patron yells at me!)

  5. Name two professional clubs or organizations that are useful to your chosen career.

  6. How have internship or externship helped your professional development?
(If you havent participated, you can chose to give a hypothetical explanation or tell us why you would like to participate in one)

  7. Discuss your personal philosophy concerning your professional life.

(This connects to last week, dont re-paste! concentrate on your career)

  8. How is or isn't this philosophy interdisciplinary?

(don't be afraid if it isnt connected....you may not think it is but someone may provide you with an epiphany!)

  9. How have your career goals altered?

(Have anyone of you changed your career goals since you started this degree? (may not have been the cause))
Just for fun... i'd like everyone to try and post a picture of what their career will be! (preferrably more than just clipart! mines below)

Week 9 Personal Philosophy

What is personal philosophy?

“A personal philosophy is a frame of mind that guides your perspectives on all things inyour life. A personal philosophy is a way of life.” (Answers.com)

Welcome to week 9! I am excited about this weeks topic because it is such a important and deep topic, and we can all learn a lot from each other!

Our experiences create our knowledge and memories, and these guide our emotions and reasoning abilities. It is important to have a belief system, which is made up of your own personal values. All of this will make up your attitude and your approach to situations in life! Every decision that you make, reflects who you are. Our personal philosophy will determine the quality of our decisions and ultimately our lives.

Know your personal philosophy and share them this week!

  1. How does your personal philosophy play into your professional life?

  2. Is your personal philosophy interdisciplinary? How so?

  3. Have your career goals evolved? In what way?

Be sure to give feedback to at least one peer this week. This week is a great topic to learn from each other and give your peers positive feedback!

Week 8 Evidence

    What is evidence?

Evidence is used in police stations in order to prove a case. Without evidence, the charges would be left to hearsay. Evidence plays a important role in ensuring that justice is done, and that the truth is upheld.

Another word for evidence is proof. Proof of our experience is important to facilitate and strengthen our e-portfolio to the audience. Evidence helps to portray details and gives the audience the opportunity to see into your past experiences.

  1. How will your e-Portfolio demonstrate your interdisciplinarity?

  2. How do you plan to portray your strengths?

  3. What is the audience / purpose you're thinking of targeting?

  4. How do you envision your e-Portfolio looking like? What about it would you like to stand out?

  5. What kind of evidence are you planning to use in your e-portfolio?

Every one has been giving great feedback! Keep up the good work!
